New England Patriots on Paper: post-cut signings

At noon on Sunday, the deadline for claiming players released from their NFL contracts on the past two days expires and all players become free agents - this deadline is also the earliest time that NFL teams can start to construct their 8 player practice squads.

Below is a running list of signings by the New England Patriots, the most recent at the top of the list. Note that (PS) denotes Practice Squad signing, while (AR) denotes active roster signing:

Matthew Mulligan TE (AR)

Former Maine Black Bear is a load blocking in the running game and has soft enough hands to contribute on the stat sheet as well.

Chris White LB (AR)

Claimed off waivers from Detroit, 3rd year speical teams player. Player page here.

Chris Barker, G (AR)

Claimed off waivers from Miami, former teammate of Sudfeld. Scouting report here.

Braxston Cave, C (AR)

Cave was considered a top Center in the 2013 Draft out of Notre Dame.  Cut from Browns roster. scouting report here.

A.J. Francis, DT (AR)

Francis is 6' 5", 310 pounds claimed on waivers from the Dolphins.  Scouting report here.

R.J. Dill, OT (PS)

Another massive tackle - and another Rutgers grad.

Quentin Sims, WR (PS):

Marcus Forston, DT (PS)

Joins practice squad as expereinced depth.

 Kanorris Davis, S (PS)

Cleared waivers after being released on Saturday.

Ja’Gared Davis, LB (PS)

Signed last week of camp, releaseed and cleared waivers
Jeff Tarpinian, LB (PS)

The Practice Squad merry-go-round starts for a good depth LB

Justin Green, CB (PS)

The re-signing of Green was expected if he cleared waivers, due to uncertainty in the secondary.  Green had plenty of snaps in preseason games.
