Patriots inactives: Amendola, Gronk out

The New England Patriots have announced their inactive list in advance of their 8:25 kickoff with the New York Jets.

No real surprises, but plenty of disappointment as Danny Amendola, Rob Gronkowski and Zach Sudfeld's injuries leave the pass catching positions on offense very thin, particularly at tight end and Brandon Bolden's knee leaves the Patriots with just two realistic options at running back...

...but the news on defense has improved, as safety Duron Harmon has gotten past the worst part of his sore hamstring and will suit up...that said, here are tonight's inactive list

Danny Amendola, WR - As expected, Amendola's groin injury was severe enough to keep him from this game.  In his stead, Julian Edelman has the opportunity to make this receiving corps his, but he's going to need the rookies on the depth chart to step up;

Rob Gronkowski, TE - Also expected, but this should be the last time we see the all world tight end on the inactive list for a football game this season.  With 10 days to work until the Patriots next game, Gronk should be ready;

Zach Sudfeld, TE - Unfortunate because Sudfeld was chomping at the bit to get back into the game and show Brady and Belichick that he could handle full speed regular season football;

Brandon Bolden, RB - A knee injury has him sidelined yet again, and on a depth chart that is desperately thin, that's not good;

Chris Jones, DT - Just joined the Patriots yesterday after being claimed off waivers from Tampa, has not had enough time to absorb schemes and playbooks;

Will Svitek, OT - Swing tackle still hobbled with a bum knee;

Steve Beauharnais, LB - A healthy scratch, and with a great linebacking corps, the team can probably afford his absence.
